It got quiet around here!

Yesterday Jeff and Katie and their family took of for San Jose del Cabo for 4 nights.  They plan to explore some of the East Cape and to do some snorkeling with the kids.  They will arrive back here at Campestre Maranatha on Christmas day.  The rest of the family will arrive the next day.

The group of youth that were here for the last several days also packed up and completed their retreat today.  There was a lot of energy here over the last few days with this group between class sessions.

Suddenly......it is quiet here.  Sort of miss the sounds of the youth!

Soccer match going on.

Perched!

 Gathering for more time together.

What we saw the last few days with this group of young people is an example of much that takes place here at Campestre Maranatha.

Churches come from many parts of the Baja and some from the mainland to use these facilities for retreats and spiritual renewal gatherings.  Many baptisms have taken place in the swimming pool.

There is also a Vacation Bible School outreach by the camp every year to the villages on either side, Chametla and El Centenario.

Schools use the camp facilities for school outings.  Families use the camp for weddings and other family events.

The lights of La Paz across the bay.

Every time we come to La Paz, Linda and I like to go up to our property and watch the sunset and see the lights of La Paz come on across the bay.

Up on the roof at Rick and Kathy Byers' house.

I took this picture with an eight second exposure and using no flash.  It was nearly dark.

Took this with the moonlight and 15 seconds exposure.

We then drove into La Paz to see what was happening on the Malecón tonight.

It is quiet here right now except some road noise in the distance, an occasional boom from a fireworks, far away some dogs are barking messages back and forth to each other and in about 6 hours there will be a chorus of roosters.

Christmas time is a time of fireworks like the 4th of July is for us in the USA.
